Dr. Robert Adams
Robert is a doctor of physical therapy who also has over 10 years of coaching experience. He integrates his background as a physical therapist to apply scientific research to training.
Robert has always been frustrated by cookie-cutter approaches that were catered to talented or already athletic individuals.
By combining his understanding of the human body, research on mobility and strength training, and experience teaching, Robert delivers an approach to training that is accessible for individuals of all backgrounds and training levels.
This approach allows his students and patients to understand the WHY behind the drills and gives them a framework to track their progress, and also create realistic expectations for how long their training will take to achieve results.
In the past 15+ years, Matt has taught thousands of people how to move in engaging ways that actually get people stronger and more mobile.
Matt started teaching at CrossFit Steamboat in 2008 after receiving his BS in Kinesiology. Over the years, he was a professional firefighter and ski patroller, personal trainer for Hollywood actors, was a lead teacher for Ido Portal’s US seminars and events, and worked for CrossFit HQ.
He founded Ape Co in 2016 for one simple reason: to remind everyone your body is capable of much more than you think is possible.
At Ape Co, Matt has created a home for movement breakthroughs to happen regularly with the support of a strong community.
He is currently a student of Marcello Pallozo’s Human Movement Studies Program to deepen his knowledge and approach to teaching movement, and brings all of his years of expertise to this program.
